An altered keepsake box for Berry71Bleu

Hi lovely people! I hope this post finds you well. We are all doing great here :)

I am so happy to share with you today this keepsake box I created for my baby girl Sofia, using a handmade tag created JUST for Sofia from my wonderful friend Marivic, owner of Berry71Bleu and Zeus and Zoe etsy shops . THANK YOU Marivic for this special gift for Sofia :)

I have said it before, that when I use Marivic's tags , they ALWAYS bring out the soft, romantic and shabby style in me.

I love these tags, because they have lots of of embellishments on them which makes layering and clustering all that much easier as its a whole tag already done up. The Berry71Bleu etsy shop is HERE, but as it is summer in the USA Marivic is on a bit of a break but stay tuned!

This box was actually a gift box for Sofia, which included a little blanket inside. I decided to keep it as it looked like something that can be easily altered.

The handmade tag is right in the centre and it included on it those beautiful buttons, trims and some flowers. I added some more Prima flowers and it was done in no time.

Here is a glimpse of what is included inside. Its all the little bits that had to do with her birth, pregnancy etc. Her hospital card and tags, ultrasound photos, my hospital documents! Even the home pregnancy tests I took!

Hope you like my little project!

Thank you so much for dropping by today :) For more of my work, please see my blog HERE

Last 2 layouts for Scraps Of Elegance for July!

Hi there everyone. Hope you all have a great week ahead.

Here are 2 layouts I created with the Home Sweet Home kit from Scraps Of Elegance for July.
This month's kit also included the very pretty Prairie Chic collection from Bo Bunny, which I have included here.

"35"

"Oldest & Youngest"

For this layout above, I was inspired by my extremely talented friend Georgia Heald (if you have not found her blog yet go HERE and check out her awesomeness ) in 2 ways. 1) I decided to cut strips of paper to use on my background rather than tearing them as I usually do! 2) I used a crackle effect as my background as I saw on one of her canvases HERE
Now enter another bit of information I picked up from this video from the very sweet Adrienne Ford HERE . Adrienne showed a way to get the crackle effect in a very quick way. It hasnt turned out the best but its a technique I will try again for sure! I have the very same problem as Adrienne... I have no patience when it comes to waiting for mixed media mediums to dry.. now more than ever since having the baby! I kind of have snippets of time here and there and given that patience is NOT my middle name anyway, I am always on the lookout for ideas that cut time. So thanks Adrienne and Georgia for the inspiration :) Keep it coming :)

Hope you liked my layouts!

Cherish layout for Scraps Of Elegance!

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Feeling great here. Right in the middle of winter, and a cold rainy day today here in Sydney and I am indoors drowning in paper work for our business.

I needed a break and so I decided to come here and post one more layout I created with the July kit from Scraps Of Elegance..

A while back, I bought a super expensive camera but I find these days the majority of photos I take are on my iphone! OK so not the best quality but I feel like they truly capture the moment. Here , on this layout I have used one more my eldest Mara took recently of myself, Ioanna and Maria while we were talking one night.

Scraps Of Elegance now has a colour Add On as well, and this month it included some brand new Shimmerz Texturez in Tidy Widy colour. I used this and my finger tips to cover the Prima resin window frames which were also part of the kit. I thought it gave it a quick and simple detail.

Now here is my layout based on this gorgeous sketch.,
Of course if you have followed my blog for a while, you must understand what this biblical quote means and why I used it with a photo of Sofia and I. Throughout the long journey to have Sofia, my relationship with God changed many times.  It was hard not to be angry at Him for what I went through. I wondered some days "which Father would wish this pain on their child?" .  I prayed daily for a baby, a healthy baby this time. When I found out I was pregnant, I ironically turned to Him again and of course just like any parent He forgave me for my anger. It felt that my cries had reached Him. Time passed, my anger settled and I started to see some reasons for all the battles. Unfortunately I needed to go through this to find myself. And I have.

First projects for Sofia using 13arts products!

Hi everyone!

I'm popping in today to share with you a layout and mini book I created with the BEAUTIFUL Faces of Spring collection,  a few 13arts Ayeeda Mixed Media products and even more embellishments from 13arts.

Here is what this gorgeous collection looks like..

13arts has also released lots of mists and mixed media products and here are some of them..These and many more are available HERE

Here is my first project.

13arts Materials
Mixed media Mediums:  13 arts Ayeeda Gesso , Ayeeda Gel Medium , Ayeeda Modelling Paste ,
Flowers: 13arts White Roses

I was very nervous about making this layout. This is my very first layout of my new baby girl Sofia, and she has taken her time to get here, as most of you might know. The photo I have used here is not very clear, but it is SO important to me. I took this photo of Sofia and I, in the middle of the night just hours after she was born while my husband was asleep and not a sound could be heard around the maternity ward.

The journalling is lyrics from the song "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. While trying to conceive her and while trying to stay strong through many tough days before and during my pregnancy, I listened to this song almost daily... its words spoke very much of what I was going through. I knew that when it came time to create my first layout for my new baby, this was the title I would use and the journalling I would use. To me, it feels as though I was dying each day I was waiting for a baby, and that indeed a part of me will never be the same ...

Now here is my second project. This is a mini book for my newborn, where I have already started to record precious moments.

13arts Materials
Paper: 13 arts Faces of Spring collection - Natural Beauty, In Your Eyes
Mixed media Mediums:  13 arts Ayeeda Gesso , Ayeeda Gel Medium , Ayeeda Modelling Paste ,
Feather: 13arts Feather

A card for Riddersholm Design for July!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a card I made for Riddersholm Design for June. I was a bit bored and uninspired one night last week and feeling as though every card I was making was starting to look the same. So I went blog surfing and came across a very talented card maker from Poland called Encza and I was really inspired by her work. It's wonderful to find inspiration in others. It just makes me all excited about trying something new, especially when I am stuck for ideas.

Well anyway, I based this card on one of her designs and I quite like the result. I have been leaving big flowers off my cards lately, but I liked adding these Prima Sunrise, Sunset gold flowers on them. I had bought these back in March when I had attended Finnabairs class here in Sydney ! What a great feeling it is to break open a new pack of ANYTHING and put it to good use!

The Riddersholm Designs papers I used here are from the Huntington Gardens and Fleamarket

Other Materials
Chipboard Doilies: Gina's Designs
Leaf: Petaloo Foliage
Doily Punch: Martha Stewart
Flowers: Prima Marketing Sunrise , Sunset collection and Allegra Dove

You can find all of these collections at the Riddersholm Design online store HERE
For your nearest stockist please go HERE

In Australia, you can purchase them from SCRAPPY KAPERS!!!

I hope you like my creation. Don't forget to drop by the Riddersholm Design blog HERE for HEAPS of inspiration using these gorgeous papers :)

Thank you for dropping by today!

See you all next time.

So today I wanted to share with you one of my latest projects, which is for the Maja Design July Mood Board.

Remember these mood boards can be interpreted in any way. You can pick whatever you like from the following board and create WHATEVER you like :)

Mood-Board-July

This mood board is inspired by the Life By The Sea collection, which I do not have so I based my card on the Life By The Country collection.

I really liked the blues and creams in this collection and decided to create a bit of a different themed card. I wanted to create something nautical or sea themed... but I was stumped for ideas LOL! So I went for a travelling theme.

Hope you like my card :)
